Sony's Big New PS5 And PC Game Concord Got Off To A Slow Start

Sony’s latest big PlayStation 5 and PC game, Concord, launched on August 23 after an estimated eight years of development. The game did not, however, appear to put up big numbers at release, despite being generally well-received by fans and critics. [Update: Less than two weeks after launch, Sony has announced that Concord will go offline.]

On Steam, Concord peaked at 697 concurrent users on launch day, August 23, and has fallen off since. PlayStation 5 player numbers are not publicly available, but Tweaktown discovered that Concord ranks at No. 50 right now on the PS5 best-seller charts on the PlayStation Store.

Concord’s special-edition DualSense 5 controller remains available for purchase, whereas some of Sony’s previous controller releases themed around new games sold out quickly. There could be any number of reasons why one controller sold out and another didn’t, however, and the fact that Concord’s controller didn’t sell out doesn’t necessarily speak to the popularity of the game.

On launch day, a number of Sony’s other internal PlayStation studios rallied around Concord and released statements praising the game and creating custom art for Concord. Sony’s Insomniac (Spider-Man) and Bend (Days Gone) studios played the game live on Twitch to help drum up excitement for it.

Some expected Concord to be a free-to-play title, but it had a premium release, priced at $40. It is a live-service title, with multiple upcoming seasons planned, but–in an unusual move for 2024–does not offer a battle pass or microtransactions at launch

The hero shooter didn’t have a long announcement-to-release period, as Concord was announced at the end of May and launched about three months later.

Concord was developed by Firewalk Studios, which is owned by Sony, and it’s the developer’s first game Come from online casino bangladesh . It was in development for 8+ years, according to lead designer Joe Weisnewski. “Concord has so much humanity and depth to it. I really hope people give it a shot. Insanely proud of the game and we’re strapped in and ready to push it for years to come,” the developer said.

Sony was at one point planning to release 10 live-service games by 2026 but later cut the figure in half as the company outlined a plan to focus on quality over quantity. Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Online, once described as the developer’s most ambitious game ever, was canceled

According to a report, one of the last major decisions that former PlayStation boss Jim Ryan made was a mandate for PlayStation’s teams to make more games-as-a-service titles. A number of PlayStation developers were said to be upset by this, and the blame apparently fell on industry veteran Connie Booth. A 30-year veteran, Booth left PlayStation in October 2023, and no reason for her departure was ever provided. Some believe she was fired. Booth is now an executive at Electronic Arts.

Looking ahead, Concord Season 1: The Tempest, launches in October–it adds a new character, new map, new variants, and additional cosmetics and rewards. It also introduces a new season of weekly cinematic vignettes that will further flesh out the narrative. Season 2 is scheduled for January, with Season 3 expected in April.

Call Of Duty- Warzone's Caldera Map Continues To Improve With Season 3

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Caldera map arrived for Season 1 of Vanguard, shifting players from the drab buildings of Verdansk to a sunny island getaway. However, Season 1 also launched with myriad problems on Caldera that hindered the enjoyment and playability of the map. Now with the launch of Season 3, Warzone’s tropical island is a much better place to visit.

Call of Duty Season 1 made it really hard to enjoy the beauty of the island with graphical bugs that caused giant polygon monsters to swallow buildings and players whole. Consoles struggled to keep up, with several crashing and performance issues across PlayStation and Xbox systems. Some of the operator skins in the battle pass were also broken, leaving many players to abuse skins that allowed them to be nothing more than a floating head on the map, making them frustrating to encounter. Furthermore, the Ricochet anti-cheat that was promised also didn’t arrive to all regions at launch, so hackers contin…

CoD- Black Ops 6 Zombies – How To Complete The Liberty Falls Main Easter Egg

Round-based Zombies returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with two brand-new maps. Both of the launch maps feature a main storyline, and here we guide you through all the steps needed to complete the Liberty Falls main quest.

How to get started with the Liberty Falls main quest

The Liberty Falls storyline quest can be completed either solo or with a squad, but some steps will be made easier with teammates.

First, you’ll need to spend the first few rounds opening up the full map, reaching Pack-a-Punch, and crafting the map’s Jetgun Wonder Weapon.

Once you’ve opened up the church’s interior, you’ll want to interact with the machine located on the right side. This will give you some story dialogue.

Interact with the machine in the room again, and you’ll be prompted with the next steps to build the Wonder Wonder needed to progress.

Goose Goose Duck Tips- All Roles Explained And More

Goose Goose Duck is an Among Us clone that has seen a massive rise in popularity over the last month or so. Similar to InnerSloth’s breakout hit, Goose Goose Duck is a social deduction game that tasks players with sussing out the impostor–which is, in this case, a duck in goose clothing–and has only recently gained popularity despite launching back in April 2021. Also like Among Us, Goose Goose Duck players can explore a space station setting, make use of vents to sneak about for nefarious purposes, and–if they don’t pass the group’s collective vibe check–get jettisoned into space. But on closer inspection, the reason for the fanfare quickly becomes clear: Goose Goose Duck has way more to offer than Among Us. Frankly, calling Goose Goose Duck an “Among Us clone” isn’t just an oversimplification–it’s an outright lie. While it’s true that the overall gameplay mechanic is lifted right from the Among Us playbook, Goose Goose Duck isn’t a cut-and-paste clone, it’s an Impostor.

J.K. Simmons Returning To Gotham As Commissioner Gordon For Batgirl – Report

Casting and production news for the upcoming Batgirl movie is pouring in, with a familiar face popping back up in Gotham City for the project. The Hollywood Reporter has stated that J.K. Simmons is in talks to reprise the role of Commissioner Gordon for the project.

Simmons first played Gordon back in Justice League, where he infamously got completely shredded for a role which netted him a miniscule amount of time on screen–though with any luck that’s about to change. In DC Comics, Gordon is the father of Barbara AKA Batgirl (though he is usually unaware of his daughter’s secret vigilante lifestyle). Batgirl herself was recently cast as In The Heights alum Leslie Grace.

In the comics, Gordon is one of Batman’s closest allies and friends, despite being one of the few people who regularly works with the Dark Knight to flat out refuse to speculate on his real identity. Barbara was introduced as his daughter in the ’60s, following her d…
